Posted by Seager @ 06:56 PM CST Link | Wednesday, September 29, 2004 So, when we last spoke, 6 months ago, I had this shitty job that sucked. After that I had a shitty landscaping job which didn't suck at first when I worked in the nursery with plants and shit outside all day, but soon began sucking (right around RAGBRAI) when I started landscaping instead of doing easyish work. So, I started looking elsewhere and got in with The Flying Burrito just as they were starting up. I started out as bike delivery (!) but a few weeks ago became a manager (one of three, the other two being the owner and an original manager when the store opened). I don't do much delivery anymore but I get 40+ hours in 4 days, which is cool. So here is my schedule now: Sunday: 11-2 | 5-8 split shift Delivery (I want to drop this eventually) The only problem with this schedule is Mon through Wednesday I live at the store. I wake up at 3ish, am awake for an hour and a half, then I got to work, work almost 12 hours, then come home and go to bed. If I could drop my Sunday shift it would be better, 'cause then I would only work 3 days a week and get almost 36 hours. I can easily live off that. Well, in any event I'm still looking for a "real" job since I'm wasting a rather expensive education. Bleh. I'm not too hopeful though. I've been looking for a "real" job for almost 10 months. Posted by Seager @ 09:29 PM CST Link | I just watched this tape that I have of the hotel. It was kinda crazy. I haven't seen those people in that light in a long time. It's no secret that I'm good at losing touch with people whom I don't live directly near. Johnny just moved to Iowa City, where many CFians have migrated too. He was my roommate for awhile, for those of you who missed the news. Well... I live out in the country now with Georgia, Qehndrah, Mark, and this fellow named Curly Tim. I still don't have a real job... but that is ok. I'm now a manager of a restaurant called "The Flying Burrito." I left the seed corn job shortly after my last post about it, and was a landscaper for about 6 months. That job sucked, it took all of my time. I need to find all the people I've lost touch with. Do any of you want copies of that hotel tape? It has GAT4 as well as my nuts on it. I'm going to start living here again, I think. Posted by Seager @ 08:52 PM CST Link | |
