We're at war. People are dying as you read this, lives are being shattered.

It's 2:04 am, I'm watching CNN, and am watching a live fire fight, people shooting at people, tanks shooting at people, and I am sure people have died, in real time, in the explosions that I am witnessing. This is unprecedented. Never before has coverage like this taken place. This is not a movie, I am watching a WAR live on TV, being broadcast around the world. Earlier I watched Baghdad get leveled by bombs, also in real time. This is all happening while Americans sit calmly watching the news with their TV dinners. Imagine how the Iraqis feel, watching it on TV as well. Imagine what it would be like if the cameras were with the Iraqi troops, and people were exploding in blood all around the camera.. This is not war we are being shown. They are showing us glorified skeet shooting. It's not right to represent WAR so calmly and cleanly. War is evil, horrible, and dirty. It should be shown as such.

Fuck this shit. This is surreal. This is WRONG. War should not be entertainment. WAR is NOT the ultimate reality TV show.

Q1: How to do you keep the Roman ignorant masses complacent during the days of yore?
A2: Bring back the gladiatorial games.

Q1: How do you keep the American ignorant masses complacent now and make them forget about the president's staggering ignorance and the crappy economy?
A2: Start a war and then let them watch it on TV.

Fuck you Bush. Fuck you and fuck your war. There are many dictators around the world that abuse their people, what makes Iraq special? There are many countries developing weapons of mass destruction, esp N. Korea, what makes Iraq special? There are many people as evil as Saddam, what makes him special?

Bush, you fucking shithead, you are lying to us blatantly and to our faces. You are an evil man.

Things I've watched/learned tonight:

Up in Northern Iraq some of our guys got shot at. We called in an artillery strike that set an oil well on fire. We then took 3 Iraqis prisoner who WERE DRIVING A PINK PICKUP TRUCK WITH A MACHINE GUN ON TOP. Jesus christ, a pink pickup truck. These people are a fucking threat to America? BULLSHIT! (did I mention we shot an oil well with artilary and set it on fire?)

One of our patriot missiles shot down a British Royal Air force plane. Bush, you are directly responsible for that man's death. You fucking piece of shit.

An American who "recently turned Muslim" threw 3 grenades into the tents around him in Kuwait and then started shooting people. 11 people dead or injured. This is what War does to people.

The Britians make up 15% of coalition forces. 14 of them are dead, and 8 Americans are dead. Bad luck for the Britians, too bad most if not all of them died in helicopter crashes and US friendly fire. (read as: "it was our fault.") ... (not to mention it's our fault that they are in the war in the first place)

In the firefight I'm watching a republican guard commander surrenders saying there are 100 republican guard people in a compound. They sent in tanks and blew the fuck out of the compound. There is still a stand off as tanks drive around slowly flushing them out and blowing them up. I'm sure that I've witnessed explosions that have killed people. Yet, I can't stop watching. Soon (it's 2:46am) a 2,000lb bomb will be dropped on the compound, and their deaths will be televised. A big boom and then the spectator tucks himself into his nice warm bed.

And finally, Fox News is presenting a horribly skewed and blatantly right wing "Them Iraqis sure is screwed" stance and almost laughing and licking their chops while every other news station is being professional. (well, aside from calmly narrating as people die) Fuck you fox news, you're almost as bad as Bush.

This war is not necessary, Iraq is no more a threat than any number of other nations. Who are we to say what regimes should stay and what should not. We can't police the world, we can't run the world, dictators exist and there is little we can feasibly do about it. Yet, we are targeting this one nation, destroying it, "liberating" it, and once the war is over we'll have to run it, rebuild it, and feed it. Without UN support Iraq will be like another US state as far as responsibilities.

This will be many times more expensive than Afghanistan's rebuilding was. Oh, wait, we didn't rebuild them. The country and reverted into lawlessness where women are raped daily. And, how much money for aid for Afghanistan did Rev. Bush have in his budget proposal? None.

This war is about oil, power, and imperialism. Fuck you Bush. Not in my fucking name.

I'm toooo busy. I've been working my balls off on the Road Show website, practicing, taking tests etc etc. It's starting to suck. I need to get things done for Josh, the Peace Corp people, PMC, more test next week, random school projects, two jobs, and all while trying to have some resemblance of a social life and time with Qehndrah.

ARGH! I need to get caught up. I'm doing too much extra stuff. I've got to get it all done soon or there is no way.
