10/06/2004 Entry: "January"

So, I've been really busy once again. Since we last spoke I have obtained a B.S. in Microbiology, failed to find a job, cleaned the entire apartment (A huge project), re-potted all my plants, rescued a dog from Minnesota, filed my taxes, got drunk for the first time, and figured out where to live after May. It's been busy.

The dog's name is Georgia Clinton, The Funk Bitch. If you don't get the joke you suck and don't know music as well as you should. For those of you whom I just described, George Clinton is the father of funk, and such ideas as the Dogg pound etc came from him. Snoop Doggy Dog got his name from one of his songs. All that dog pound shit, ALL OF IT, came from him and the funk. Educate yourself in The Funk, and you will go far. (Georgia happens to be a girl, hence the slight naming difference.)

Georgia and I met on Qehn's farm when we were visiting last weekend. The poor thing hobbled up to me, abused to hell, being very submissive (hopping like a frog) and cold. She had a limp and was freezing in -30 windchill. The owner was the neighboring farm who have a county injunction against them for owning dogs because they are so abusive. Qehn's Dad is an abusive fuck who kicks stray dogs when they come around, and beats the hell out of his own, so both parties has been beating Georgia. Qehn's Mom isn't as bad, she just shoots stray dogs that hang around with bird shot. Due to this Georgia has BBs lodged in her head and in one of her rear legs. Qehn and I decided to rescue the poor thing and make her ours. Currently she lives at Johnny's house and is making good friends with his dog, Mouth. She is a happy doggy. We're going to probably move in with Johnny in May, have Qehn's cat Michi move in, and plant a garden. The yard is extremely dog friendly with a fence and kennel built into the garage. It rules.

I filed taxes today. If you make less 33k a year (that should be everyone) you should use this website. It files your state and federal at once, electronically, direct deposits your refund (if you want), and it only takes about an hour. No postage, not shit, refunds in around 10 days they estimate. You can't beat that. Oh yea, it's free. :)

New Year's Eve was fun. I got drunk for the first time. It was interesting, but I don't want to do it a lot. Mmmm... It was nice finally playing circle of death with something other than Coke.
