10/06/2005 Entry: "cat tree" A lot has happened since I last wrote (this is nothing new). My Dad, Sister, Bother in Law, and their 3 kids visited for an extended christmas stay (awesome), as that was ending I got very sick (13 hours on the bathroom floor) followed by Qehn being just as sick the next day. Well, sicker, actually, because she tends to get sicker than me. We blame the Norwalk Virus. It was brutal. It also caused to us have to cut short/skip Ben's visit. Bleck. I also built up Qehn's new computer using Mark's old parts and my old ram. A 1.1g athalon. (beats her old imac) And, I leave to go snowboaring tomorrow on the annual Barker Ski Trip. WEEE!! Yesterday Mark and I finished making a cat tree. We spent about 20+ hours on it over the last few weeks, and made it entirely out of dumpstered wood (old lofts, etc) and dumpstered carpet. The only money spent was on staples for my staple gun. Something like this costs between $200-$400 in a store, so we're pretty proud. Parts of it are a little ricketty, but considering we only had a handsaw and scrap wood, you can't complain. I've included some pictures for your kitty viewing pleasure and... (of course) some video of the cats playing on it, simply because I can. Catless | Both Cats | Both again Cats Playing Video / Tree Tour Y'know there is something wrong with me when I start putting videos of our cats on this thing.
