12/14/2007 Entry: "this is going to be a long entry" This is going to be a long entry. I will probably make use of the more button. I'll post later about training and more about the x-country trip. Also I made a website for my Aunt Nancy's trip that's almost finished. For now: I have a lot on my mind lately and several things I could talk about. I have 3 days left at my job (next Tuesday is my last day.) I hate working there, but I have finally molded it into a place where I can almost enjoy working there. Much of it was simply getting used to certain things - like that certain bosses will never do certain hard jobs etc. Much of it was a lowering of expectations, but the majority of it was that as of several months ago I because indespenaible enough that I can get away with pretending less that I am someone I'm not. They have offered me several more dollars an hour and 1/2 of Saturdays off not to quit. (I've worked every saturday but 2 since xmas) They really don't want me to leave. Why? Without wanting to sound boastful - because I'm damn good at my job and bust my ass. This allows me to do things like make horrible, horrible puns on a regular basis, invent special days like "Your Mom Thursday" and get away with saying and doing just about anything as long as the work gets done. I can do things I've have gotten fired earlier in my "career" and people will actually appreciate it. Boss #2 doesn't want me to quit because he says work will be boring and no fun without me. That's about the best compliment I can hope to get - even from those douchebags. I won't miss that place, but I will miss the money. I look forward to taking a job in the future where I can be myself from the start. Well, an attenuated version of myself at the start. You can't just be weird on people when you first meet them - it's too off-putting. I have a decent lead for a job teaching Autistic children in the fall, or installing bamboo, or helping open up a restaurant. All are good leads but the restaurant job will pay crap. Qehndrah will also be changing her job in the fall. If it pays better it takes tons of the pressure off of me to get a high paying (and probably heavy labor) job again. I'll have a few weeks after I leave my job before I hit the road with the X-Country trip. I need to train train train my ass off. I also need to go to California to pick up some inheritances from my grandparents. I'm looking forward to that trip. Thats it for now.
