The Roller Girls show that we did last week went really well. The crowd loved it (those who were paying attention because it was a break between periods) and we got VIP passes and schwagg and what not. We'll probably be doing their show again in April. Roller Derby's freakin' rule. We'll probably do some unicycle jousting at it next time. Our Emerald Valley show went well tpo - and despite forgetting to do a trick I'll probably edit that down to a video so the folks at home can see it. I'm also working on promo and audition videos for the group using lots of past footage so look forward to that.

But first, instead of good, well edited video taken from my good camera - you get crappy, thrown together video taken from my still cam of me trying to kill myself riding Muni today. (Youtube's crappy compression doesn't help) It's short, and despite the low quality worth watching. (I'm on a roll with this youtube shit, eh?)

Oh, and for those of you wondering why we moved here - look outside your window at the 20 feet of snow you have - and then look at the 50deg paradise where I spent my day.

It's way the fuck late at night, so I'm not going to write about the fun adventures that have happened in the last couple of days, but I will show you a short video - Brian's first Muni Ride. This was filmed with my still cam while I was riding as well on a not-too-technical portion of trail. I do, occasionally, need my camera hand to balance, however - so the cam gets a little crazy at time. Even though it looks like it, I never do fall. (but Brian does, and it's hilarious!)

It's kind of neat that you can see my shadow at the beginning.

AH! I'll write and entry that actually involves me later today-ish - (although it will probably just talk about unicycling and the roller girls juggling show that we did and other circusy mumbo jumbo - WHICH RULES!)

But first I should post another video featuring that buttface cop from my last post. Apparently this isn't his first offense. This video is actually even more hackles-raising because the victim didn't even do anything illegal. And yet, this cop still hasn't been fired.

I'm not really all about posting videos that I don't make, but this is one of the exceptions. I heard about this on the radio during my ride home today.

Most of the YouTube videos of cops harassing skateboarders don't really get my hackles up - mainly because the skateboarders aren't helping the problem. They are mouthy and the cops over-react. Well, that's what cops do, and that's not news. If you respect them they will, generally, respect you back.

Well, not in this case. Even my golden mouth (that sounds dirty) couldn't have talked down this cop. Thank God he wasn't around when I was a kid. All the officers I wound up in "conflict" with allowed me to talk my way out of things - including several busted illegal bonfires (one in a parking lot), cart pushing, driving my car backwards down University Ave, and shooting fireworks off over houses. This guy would have probably shanked me.

Yay for videotaping it when a cop assaults your 14 year old buddy.

For the record, I pulled off juggling and hooping for a couple of seconds tonight. By next week I think I'll have it. It's way the fuck harder than it should be. The two rhythms don't mesh like unicycling and juggling do. Part of my issue is that I was already a good separate unicycler and juggler before I tried to do them both at the same time - and that was really hard to learn. Now hooping - I suck at that compared to my unicycling skills. Especially since I have to hoop around my knees in order to have room to juggle. That's damn hard (for me) by itself. Also the hooping motion is circular where-as juggling and unicycling motions are both linear and in the same direction. Although Revolva claims that hooping is also a linear motion. Maybe when I'm a freakin' hoop master like she is I'll agree with her. Whenever I practice if feels like it's trying to split my brain in half. It's like rubbing your belly and patting your head on steroids.

I don't have any cool videos from the UofO juggling club to share tonight. It makes me sad. In lieu of this I will post a video that I made a few years ago, and started years before I finished it. It's funny, like your face.

We've landed a pretty big show. GMJ will be performing between the 1st and 2nd periods at the next Emerald City Roller Girls bout. We'll also be performing before the show outside for the line. It's going to be swank-tastic.

Relatedly, I landed under the leg juggling while on a unicycle five times last night - and am learning how to hoop and juggle at the same time. Yay!
