Bitches,

It is my sad duty to inform that you Josh, Bth, Kendar the Destroyer, and I will be spending three days and two nights on that Oregon coast In a cottage.

Neener Neener Neener,

The rain will be there to keep us company.

I'm annoyed by the weather forecast. Josh and Bth (yes, that's spelled correctly) are visiting for 10ish days tomorrow and it's forecast to rain all 10 days. It'll be Oregon winter rain - so probably not constant, but still annoying as piss. It's even supposed to rain for our three days on the coast. Damnit.

You may not believe me, but we don't usually get this many straight days with rain here. We were hit by the same winter system that froze the country last week, and it's causing all this crap too. It's the worst weather I've seen since we moved here. Still way better than Iowa right now, but not good weather for showing off our home.

At least we had good weather when my Dad was here.

I like this guy's blog. He's a Eugene cargo bike rider. You should read it.

I made a short video starring Qehn. I'd describe it, but then you'd be missing out on the fun.

Here is the youtube description:

Regurgitation, once thought to be unhealthy is now being accepted by the circles of vitality as a shiny beacon with which we can, nay must, use to light our way in the darkness. Like Rudolph's nose Kompressor has shown that Kendar The Destroyer, who like Kompressor DOES NOT EAT ICE CREAM, will one day rule the earth with her iron fist. It would be advisable for you to make sure that you are on the correct side. It would detrimental to your health and virginity to be... LEFT BEHIND!

The thoughts and opinions of this video are not necessarily those of Facebook or Youtube, and any similarities to celebrities are intentional so as to further aggravate the scientologists.

I am nothing if not prolific. I made a new video. It's the daytime version of the same festival that I used footage for in my last fire video, posted a few posts below this one. Here is the description:

Unexpected Failure Productions Presents "Spange!"

The Unholy Matrimony Mish-Mash-o-Tron of The GreyMatter Jugglers, Earth DescenDance, and Unkle Nancy (and his Family Jewels.)

Garun-freekin-teed to cure what ails ya, be it huge feet or tiny fingers, kneecaps shaped like waffles or a rectum full of popcorn. Proven to be 100% more likely to cause you to read statistics and 50% less likely to care. How can we provide you this miracle free of charge? We can't. Please put a dollar in the hat.

Footage taken from Eugene Celebrations 2008. Music used with permission from Unkle Nancy and the Family Jewels.

As usual the Divx and Facebook versions of the video are much better. I've got this one defaulting to high quality. Go to youtube if you can't handle it.

I'll have DIVX links to the last few videos up in bit.

It's time for "FUNNY THINGS PEOPLE SEARCH FOR WHEN THEY FIND MY SITE!"

The the results are:

16 61.54% peeing.com
1 3.85% xtracycle snapdeck stains
1 3.85% pictures of people peeing on the side of the road
1 3.85% is hubrical the adjective of hubris?
1 3.85% i'm peeing.com
1 3.85% earth descendance videos
1 3.85% peeing com
1 3.85% woman peeing.com
1 3.85% peeing/com
1 3.85% ragbrai unicycle 2008
1 3.85% big women peeing.com

Apparently people are into peeing right now.

Lets fuck with it.

Yesterday Barack Obama was indited for buying votes in a "pay to play" operation where he cheated at the state lottery, which, in fact, was simply a slavery bastion ran by Adolf Hitler (The Scientologist, not the Nazi) where he sold cushette diamonds and gold pressed latinum to beavis and butthead.

I was going to involve the phrase "underage lolita porn," but I didn't want THAT many spam bots to attack.

Oops...

I've moved about 20-30 potted plants into my school. Mostly clones. I'm going to name them after different disease causing microorganisms via sharpie on the pot and then give the kids extra credit if they can figure out what disease they cause. I'm also going to start a "Microbe of the Week" education project, mainly because I think they are cool.

We had our second snow day today. Lame. I'm not getting paid. We may have another one tomorrow.

As for the thought experiment - props to Jessica for being the only one to try. She's close enough. 50 pts to Jessica and she is now in the lead.

The question was:

I place a bowl of water into vacuum chamber with a straw going from the water to outside the chamber. The straw is, for now, capped. A vacuum is applied to the chamber.

Can I suck water out of the bowl through the straw? Why?

The answer is: "Maybe"

Click the "more" for why.

I can't recommend working in education enough. The local schools had a snow day and now Qehn and I both get the day off. No pay, but still sweet.

I never want to go back to scraping for 4-5 days off a year. Fuck that shit.

I'm sleepy. This is odd since I am at the end of a 3 day weekend and it's only 8pm. There is a chance we'll have a snow day tomorrow since the if we have an inch or more of snow here the town shuts down.

Yay.

I have to poop.

No guesses on the science thought experiment? Y'all are killing me.

I teach science now, as well as tutoring math and many other subjects. Note, I said "teach" - not assist or tutor. I have my own class, my own kids, and I write my own curriculum, tests, worksheets - the whole lot. It's not what I SHOULD be doing as an Instructional Assistant. When I go to school to get my teaching cert they'll have me do student teaching and the whole bit. They work you into it - first a week here and there, then a unit, then a semester, something like that - and they provide the curriculum. I get an entire year and I have to come up with the curriculum. The kids are also all Autistic and Aspergers with various emotional disturbances and other weird things going on. For the most part very intelligent, but they definitely are a challenge.

Tomorrow I'm going to present a thought experiment as part of my subunit of atmosphere and gasses, which is part of an overall weather/climate unit which later will lead into Guns, Germs, and Steel.

Here is the experiment. I'm interested in your opinions. Pull out your science brains people.

I place a bowl of water into vacuum chamber with a straw going from the water to outside the chamber. The straw is, for now, capped. A vacuum is applied to the chamber.

Can I suck water out of the bowl through the straw? Why?

How do normal straws work? (Remember, in science nothing "sucks" - you can only push or pull.)

The answer is not simple. In fact - I'm not sure I have an answer yet, just weird hypothesis's. What do you think? (Hint: What is/causes evaporation?)

Today I... taught crazy kids. I'm hesitant to speak about my job here since kids can track me down - although I've made efforts to minimize this. I think my youtube account is the only place where "Dreqan" is tied to me or anything I do at all. I think I should see if I can fix that...

Well, that and I post videos of me here - but they'd have to find it.

Since I last posted I've created two videos. These are them. If you go to youtube itself (or my facebook) you can watch them in high quality.

The description of the first:

The GreyMatter Jugglers are an entirely bicycle transported (usually) juggling/circus troupe out of Eugene, Oregon.

We created this video as part of a class project and then decided that with a few tweaks we could (and should!)
unleash it onto the unsuspecting public (that's you) in an effort to brainwash millions of people into riding their
bikes, dressing like clowns, and - of course - JUGGLING in order to SAVE THE PLANET!

It has been scientifically proven by people who know things about science and wikipedia that sillyness is a natural greenhouse gas reducer. 15 grams of silly can neutralize 7 gigaquads of C02 per hour. One funny wig can reduce CFCs at a rate of 17 lbs/sc (pounds per square clown) a minute. It has been proven that clowns on bikes are 10x more likely to save water by showering less than clowns not on bikes, while riding their bikes - and hippy clowns on bikes are 100x less likely to shower, ever, thereby saving the world's water supply from being made entirely too ridiculous - which, some say, may lead to incredibly long run-on sentences and liberal use of hyphens, which - really - is what Youtube is all about - and Youtube leads to underage teen pregnancy. Really.

Oh, and cars suck. Stop driving them.

--- This one was a joint editing job between Oregon Mark and I.

The description of the second:

Video of the 2008 Eugene Celebration performances by Earth DescenDance and The GreyMatter Jugglers. Footage taken of 4 different fire shows from the weekend.

--- This may be the best video, editing-wise, I've ever created.

I'm back!

Posted by Dreqan @ 10:09 PM PST Link |

Hey guys, I'm back.

Yea, I took a six month break. I didn't mean to. It's hard when it's been awhile to get back to it, because I feel like I get behind and it's just easier to do nothing than to try to keep up. Eventually I just say fuck it, like I did just now, and say I won't bother catching 'em up. Yay.

I will try over the next few days to to a general catch up. I will hopefully be doing every day / every other day updates like I used to.

I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this site is anymore. It's mainly a communication tool so that people whom I no longer live near can keep up to date on what's going on with me. It's easier than sending out 10 million e-mails. It's also serving pretty well as a way for me to go back and see my own past, like a *gaps* journal - which I suppose it is as well.

All that being said I hope to keep using it more of a creative outlet. The percentage of posts I make that follow that model has dropped on a steady basis from when this thing first came about years ago - but hey - fuck you.

So who still checks this place? (oh yea, it was broken for awhile too)
