12/14/2002 Entry: "my wrist itches" There is something deathly wrong with my wrist. It itches like a crazy bitch, but, it's not just a normal itch... it's an itch from INSIDE THE WRIST! There are no marks or anything, and I can't scratch it. It sucks, it sucks hardcore! Speaking of sucking hardcore, I got some weird flu / food poisoning thing last night right as I went to bed. I thought I was going to die. I laid in my loft shivering and shaking so hard the bed was squeaking like a sodomized katy rat. I think the only reason I wasn't up all night puking was because I took a poweful-ass anti-nausea pill from when I almost died last. I finally fell asleep when mark was kind enough to toss me up a better blanket so I'd stop shivering. I wasn't strong enough or that sure about my stomache to get it myself. It sucked. This morning sucked too, but not as much. I'm pretty over it now, although I am still fairly weak. What an adventure! Yup... uhm... I'M SICK OF ALL THIS 9-11 BULLSHIT! I was probably sick this morning because I'm allergic to fucking patriotism. Tonight at dinner there were fucking flags and patriotic table cloths and crappy USA music playing, it sucked. I ripped a hole in the table cloth, shoved a steak under it, and then stabbed a flag to it with a knife. That made me feel good. Then, on fox news ("news") they were bitching at American Muslims because they didn't have a huge rally showing their support for the "War on Terrosism" (read: "massacre of innocents") and that must mean that they are somehow unpatriotic and evil. It was an incredibly biased, anti-muslim, fallacy filled segment. Stupid people are going to see crap like that, believe it, and make this nation go further down the tubes. Fuck this nationalistic bullshit. All it does is reconvince people that there is nothing wrong with this crappy nation, and we will further turn a blind eye to our murderous, inhumane foreign policy. We, as a nation, deserved 9-11. To counteract the bullshit propaganda machine that turns this nation into one of idiotic blind drones who spend each day turning off their eyes and ears to the crimes of our nation, I give you some exerts from a bonfire slideshow from last winter inwhich we burn and piss on the flag that those idiots love so fucking much. (that, and it's a good excuse to show you guys some neat fire) Despite what the news says, not everyone loves this country so much. You are not alone.

I wouldn't go that far. This false patriotism is bullshit, and the "9/11" phenomena has been run into the ground. But I wouldn't say that we, as a nation, deserved 9/11. NOBODY deserves that, I don't care what a country has done, innocent citizens don't deserve to die in any circumstance, whether it's what we did to another group, or in the case of September 11, what another group did to us. Our country is corrupt, and there are hopefully enough people out there who will realize that, while at the same time realizing that thousands of people died in a matter of minutes, and we should certainly pay our respects to them. But we probably shouldn't overload TV with 24-hour coverage of absolutely nothing, and plaster dining centers with tablecloths and flags and "America The Beautiful." That's bullshit, and it's very naive. I really don't like what our country is doing right now, both in foreign affairs and domestically, but September 11 was a terrible day, no matter how you look at it.
