11/24/2004 Entry: "political thoughts"

A thought I had today:

"Why have recent Republican presidents had such douchebags for Vice Presidents?" Bush Sr. had Quayle, and Bush Jr. has Cheney. A fucking dumbass and an evil bastard, respectively. The last republican pres to not have an idiot for veep was Reagan. He had Bush sr. And what happened to Reagan? Some dumbass tried to shoot him. The Bush's, however, have had built in life insurance.

No one was going to shoot Bush sr (excluding Saddam) because then Quayle would have been pres, and not even psycho assassins want that. Likewise, no one is going to shoot Dubya because all the people that wildly hate Bush enough to do that are probably (and should be) way more scared of Cheney. No one is going to try to assassinate Bush because no matter how much they want to, he's better than his vice pres.

Did they do this on purpose? I doubt it, especially since Cheney talked Bush into picking him. I think it's interesting and funny though.

Speaking of assasination... IT'S STUPID! Bush, as much of a lying bastard as he is, doesn't deserve death. No one does. I wouldn't mind seeing him stand trial in the Hague for war crimes, however.

In related news a friend of mine sent me a link crossing state voter results with average state IQs. Whether or not this is accurate, true, or anywhere correct is up to you guys to figure out. I don't care enough to fact check it. I give it 50/50 odds for being bullshit, and even if it's not it doesn't really mean anything. IQ != intelligence. A better comparison would be a cross the number of fundy religious people in a state to how that state voted. I think we all know what that outcome would be, however.

Speaking of religious wackos... (not really) This headline/article was brought to my attention tonight: Man tries to convert lions to Jesus, gets bitten.

I bet he would have voted for Bush if he wasn't in Taipei. Y'know, 'cause we can't have those men sticking their penises in other men and *gasp* Kerry speaks french which is way not in the bible and STEM CELLS ARE PEOPLE TOO but the death penalty is ok and hey did you hear that Kerry voted against the partial birth abortion ban I mean who cares that he voted against it because there were other clauses involved making it an evil bill hot damn he must be an evil baby killer and I hear he doesn't even believe in a Jesus what a Muslim loving terrorist gay-marrying new england FLIP FLOPPER! HOT DAMNITTY-FUCK LETS CONVERT THAT LION TO JESUS BEFORE ABORTIONS ARE MANDATORY, THE BIBLE IS BANNED, AND FLIGHT PATHS REGULARLY GO THROUGH SKY SCRAPERS BECAUSE LIBERALS FUCKING HATE AMERICA SHIT COCK FUCK CUNT-LICKING BUTTERFLY BABIES FROM HELL PRAISE GOD THE LORD ALMIGHTY MAY HE SMITE THE LIBERALS AND PROTECT REV BUSH UNTIL ALL THE MUSLIMS AND LIBERAL TERRORISTS ARE DEAD! Amen.

If you were to listen to people like Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter like I sometimes/often do, you'd learn that that "parody" isn't much of a parody at all.

Why is it that typing in caps is therapeutic?

Yes, oh yes. It's frustrating. One thing I realized in this election is that having a shitty president is not our biggest problem. It's living in a country with so many idiots (people who believe Bush is a Christian + other rediculous ideas). You know I thought we'd have a huge deal with voting machines and votescam. That would have been great. Maybe our only hope of having a new president. But it doesn't matter. We can't even blame Diebold. They didn't have to cheat in their home state of Ohio. He fairly won that. Other thought I had was that maybe we should be more concerned with local elections than presidential elections. Who has more power: the hundreds of people we elect to represent and all the governors or Curious George (you know.. he looks like a monkey, his name is George)?
Wouldn't it be nice to feel free to vote for a party other than the Rep/Dem's? You can vote for the Greens but how do most people feel about voting for them? I would guess they say you are wasting your vote and that we need to go with someone who has a chance. To make this crazy post short I want to offer "a plan of attack".

First we're gonna need to look and smell as normal as possible. then we have to go to church and become involved in their communities. NOt hard so far, right? We can do that. Really. Then we start talking to people there. Maybe get some bible study group going and covertly plant these messages of REAL peace and Christianity into these crazy foold. There are times when it takes an atheist to make a Christian act right. You pointed out with the abortion/death penalty idea that these people must really be confused about biology and probably other sciences as well. If we could recruit from the churches to get people to withdrawl their support from the crazy conservative views fed to them by their Un-Christie leaders and FOX news we would defeat a larger problem than shitty selections for elections.

Fuckin' A. If that can't happen then could we just go disturb them at all times? I've been thinking about this but maybe it's wrong. Some churches use wireless mics!!! That service is ripe for abusing.
